Bearded dragon heat for hurricane?

I live in louisiana and we are about to get hit by the hurricane. I'm pretty sure we are gonna be out of electricity for a while but i have no clue what i am going to do about my bearded dragon. Does anybody know how long a beardie can survive without heating? And please give suggestions on what to do for my beardie.

He may get a little stressed, but he should overall be okay. You can soak him in a warm bath, or just hold him close to you like on your chest - they can soak in the heat from your body. On days where this is doable you can also take him outside for natural sunlight and uvb rays.

Just keep him close - alot of people think they are reptiles they don't know and have feelings - it knows who you are so if you keep it close it will bring is stress down and be fine!!

Don't feed him in the days just prior to the event. It is safer for him to have an empty stomach if he will not have the proper temperatures for digestion. Beardeds normally brumate during the winter months and remain without heat for weeks or months without harm. His activity level will likely lower but he should be fine.

That is correct, allow the lizard outside as much as possible, a warm towel or blanket will do in a pinch too. Also down to 60 degrees at night is tolerable to your dragon. During this time of stress offer darker greens- dandelions go over very well! When the stressor is over offer more protein. A spritz or two from a mister or spray bottle is welcomed and will allow him to calm down, but make sure that you do this early in the day so he can absorb more heat and dry off. Dragons are very hardy and tolerate 60-65 degrees at night and up to 80-85 during the day, but remember that these are extremes, not the everyday. They come from Australia, so you can only imagine what all they can handle.
