Bearded dragon lamp way too much heat?

my lamp is an adjustable lamp so i can turn down the temp and i resently bought a 150 watt bulb and it gets really hot ,but i have to buy another thermomometer cuz i lost old one ,but he has his mouth open cuz hes too hot and if its just right temp it doesnt really have any light just the heat.any sugestions or help much appreciated

  1. buy a 75 watt the beardie is getting to hot and he needs some more moisture but for now spray some water in there until you get a 75 watt day blue


  2. the first guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I got a beardie too, and having the mouth open isn't a big deal. I have a 150 watt bulb, and it is about 105 degrees in the day and 95 degrees at night, because i have my fan on, and my window open. Just measure the temperature asap, and if its more than 115 degrees you could go for a 100 watt.. 75 is WAYYYYYYYYY to low!

  3. the temp should be from 105-110

  4. i killed my bearded dragon cause it was to hot.... think of that
