i have two baby bearded dragons about 2months old in a 55gallon tank and 1 of them is growing a lot faster than the other the other has only shedding once and the big 1 has already twice...there both from the same clutch of eggs. Ive watched them for a day and the bigger 1 doesn't bully the smaller one or anything they do crol over eachother sometimes but other than that the big 1 just minds there own business and the smaller one doesnt eat anywhere near as many as the big one but if i hand feed the small 1 he/she eats a couple more than they chased. when i feed them the big one doesnt go and eat until like 20 minutes later and i right after i feed i put the small one by the crickets and they eat a couple than back to the basking spot... the both get pretty hyper about 2 hours before i put them to sleep at 10.. is there something wrong with the smaller one?

  1. ok u need to feed the lil one fruits u have to force feed it if it is real small an u could be there for hours trying to make it eat u never just feed it crickets it need fruit to

  2. hi, are the temps in your tank? or maybe u should try feeding them out of their original tank in something like a box (shoebox) try to seperate them while feeding also , Hope this might help?

  3. Every bearded dragon has a different personality, and growth rate.

  4. This happens frequently when two Bearded Dragons are put together.  There is a dominance structure in place that means the little one is getting less of everything, from food to basking, and this will take a toll on the little one's health.  If you separate them he should eventually catch up, but you really need to get them separated right away.

  5. could just be genetic or maybe a stress issue (being stressed by having the other one in with it) or it could be health related

i would seperate them and get the little one checked out by a herp vet

  6. bearded dragons grow according to ther tanks, food, and how much they are being exposed to uvb rays. if you have two bearded dragons in a cage together, i reccomend getting a larger tank and making sure thet they get lots of heat from a uvb bulb. also, calcium is a big factor in a beardies health/growth. you can get calcuim powder or spray to put on the mealworms or crickets before feeding them to your beardie. give it lots of vegetables, crickets/mealworms and make sure their habitat is up to par!
