  1. Well since you seem to know a good amount about reptiles i would choose the monitor because they always seem a bit funner lol...........but on the other hand the monitor is going to be more pricey than the beardie

  2. bearded dragon

  3. If you are experienced and know what to expect with lizards... a savannah would be a great pet.

Otherwise a beardie would be better. They are both just as rewarding, but a larger lizard means a lot more room they take up. and a ton more money.

  4. I was trying to decide between a Savannah monitor or a ball python a few years ago and somebody at the store told me that the monitor's are very temperamental and once it gets bigger could bite off a finger. The person had one and was missing his earlobe from when he was holding one, hearing that made my up my mind for me and I went with the python. bearded dragons from what I have heard are much easier.

  5. Get a tegu instead

  6. large lizards are pretty neat, but in a way it can be an awakening. A savannah is going to be very expensive. They eat a ton so you'll be spending anywhere from 4 to 10 dollars a week on it and it will need a very large cage very quickly so be ready to shell out atleast $150 for a cage in a year, probably more. They also require some work, you need to handle them to make sure they stay tame. Beardies are pretty easy and are easy going. They're also easy to breed and can be addictive. I guess it's just what you want but the savannah is a lot of money and work. Nothing wrong w/ owning one of course, just make sure you're prepared.
