  1. Your beardie needs a specific kind of I.R heat or a radiated heat and not the heat from a normal house hold bulb.Get the proper bulb bought you tight git and look after your beardie properly.

  2. IF it is just a basking bulb and NOT the UVB bulb head off to home depot and buy an Indoor flood bulb. do NOT get the spot light make sure to get a FLOOD bulb. 40-65 watt is probably all you will need. I get mine for a couple bucks there.

  3. If it's a basking bulb you can just get any wattage of bulb you need, it doesn't have to be a light bulb from a pet store. You can just get whatever wattage bulb you need at a hardware store. If the UVB bulb ever went out you have to replace it quickly.

Since it's summer and the temperature is very hot I think he could go a few days without a basking bulb without it affecting his health. This doesn't mean you shouldn't get the bulb as soon as possible, it just means he can last a lot longer without it, as compared to winter.
