Bearly Legal to claim the Tote Jackpot (C & G) Maiden Hurdle at Limerick on 19th March
The Tote Jackpot (C & G) Maiden Hurdle is to be held at Limerick over two miles and three furlongs on Monday, 19th March. The lineup of thirteen will battle through the track for getting entitled to the €6, 900 purse.
The only reasonably accomplished entry for today is Bearly Legal, Court Cave’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Fair Size. He is the only gelding on the lineup who has bagged a race in his last start and that too as the 2012 seasonal debut.
Rather the only time that he failed quite miserably was when he finished fifth in the second career start and ever since then he has been placed in all the races with the exception of two in which he fell.
Bearly Legal’s seasonal debut victory was in the Casey Enterprises 6YO Geldings Maiden (Division 2) at Tinahely over three miles.
He was the 2/1 favourite winner of the race which he led by ten lengths while riding with J. C. Barry. Stationing second was Glint Of Steel while conquering the third place was Robyn Rua.
Bearly Legal’s signing off race of the previous season was the Eurocrumb Rubber 5YO Geldings Maiden on 11th December at Lingstown over three miles. He was the runner up behind the winner, Der Kaiser, who led the track of sixteen by five lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position was the 2/1 favourite of the race, Santiago Sun.
Bearly Legal could not have wished for a better start off of the new season, firstly being entered as the favourite and then getting the race steered his way. It is a lucky omen for the connections who will settle for nothing less than a second victory through the second outing of the season.
The lineup is pretty harmless and is the sort that can be intimidated easily however, Fantastic Bob and Debt To Society are racing their seasonal debuts today which could result in a bit challenging for Bearly Legal.
Fantastic Bob can be threatening because he finished second last year in the Ladies Day 9th October at Limerick over two miles and four furlongs on 21st July. This time he might as well be planning to win it.
