  1. Here is a page that has links about what to expect in the first few weeks with breastfeeding,

  2. I would have loved someone to tell me in those first few weeks that, yes, your nipples will hurt for a while purely from use.  Everyone kept on telling me that if he was latched on properly then it wouldn't hurt at all.  I can tell you that it did for me (even though he was latched on correctly), i was stomping my foot on the ground every time he latched on, it made breastfeeding extremely uncomfortable initially and in those sleep deprived first few weeks i contemplated giving up as it just seemed too much.  The pain faded within a couple of weeks, and i'm so glad i continued.  my little bub is 6 months old now and i will be so happy to continue breastfeeding as long as he wants to now.

  3. Ok what's the problem?

Most babies will latch on on their own, instinct kicks in! tickle his nose with the nipple then when he open his mouth pop it in, it shouldn't hurt or feel uncomfortable, if it does he's probably only on the end of the nipple so take it out and try and get him to open his mouth wider so you can get more in. Remember, you know how to do this, it's hard wired into your brain so trust your self.

The most important thing is to relax, so drop your shoulders and remember why you're doing it - because you love that little monkey face more than anything in the world - there hold on to that smile!

If you need help, ask me anything, i'll stay online in case you need me!
