Beat The Ballot likely to win the Bet 10euros Get 10euros on tote.com Handicap
Beat The Ballot has got a solid chance of claiming the Bet 10euros Get 10euros on tote.com Handicap at Naas in Ireland on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, and with a prize of €5,520 on the line - things will get interesting in the mile long contest.
The stamina of 20 runners will be tested over a distance of 1 mile, which will start at 21:00 GMT. The competition is expected to be a close one, as there are some very good runners lined up for action.
However, young gelding, Beat The Ballot has got an impressive record, and will be one of the top contenders for victory.
He has only participated in three events so far, but managed to win and finish as a runner-up once out of his three career starts.
The three-year-old's debut last year was an unimpressive one, as he finished an unplaced tenth out of 15 runners.
This performance did not express his true potential though, but he atoned for his defeat in the follow up race at Dundalk.
The Tracey Collins’ trainee was given a starting price of 10 to 1 in his second race, and he drew post number 11.
He was anchored back in the early part of the race, but showed good stamina and speed to notch victory by a narrow margin of three-quarters of a length.
His ability to handle pressure impressed the bookies, thus he was rated as the favourite to win in his next outing.
However, the Irish runner was unable to bring up his second victory, and had to settle for the runner-up position. He looked good for most part, but failed to threaten the winner in the end.
The son of Big Bad Bob, out of mare Cosmic Speed Queen, seems to be in very good rhythm right now, and will definitely be a force to reckon with at Naas.
He will be ridden by jockey J. P. O'Brien, who is a decent performer and will attract a lot of bets from the punters.
However, the bookies have more confidence in the skills of Sure Reef, who has not earned even a single victory out of five attempts.
The best he could manage was a runner-up finish in his most recent race, which shows that he is carrying a decent momentum right now.
