The French international has admitted that he had expected a tougher fight from the London side and is confident of progressing to the next round
The former European champions thrashed the sorry London side by a 3-1 margin in the first-leg of the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425, Thomas Muller and Mario Mandzukic scored for the away side as the Germans
registered a thoroughly deserved win.
Arsenal never looked that they could compete with a team like Bayern Munich throughout the course of the game and got what they deserved. They are now surely out of the tournament as it is highly unlikely that the Reds will lose
at their home ground, Allianz Arena.
Franck Ribery expressed his delight on the win and admitted that he did not expect to beat the English side with this margin. He insisted that the away side was brilliant and deserved all the three points from the game.
“We didn't think it would be so easy. We know http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are having some problems in the league, maybe they are lacking in confidence. But we feel good and we're delighted to have got that result. We're all working hard together,
with the will to play well, to win, to defend together. It's important to carry on like this,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, Ribery has warned his side against complacency and stated that the Gunners will come to the second-leg with an attacking mindset and Bayern cannot afford to take things lightly. He wants the team to play the way they did
at the Emirates Stadium and is keen to qualify for the quarter-final of the tournament.
“We will have to match that performance in the return leg. We're in good shape to reach the quarter-finals but nothing is ever over in football,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will be hoping to reach the final this year also and will be targeting a win this time around after losing in the final last year to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC. They have a brilliant team and are one of the favourites to lift the
trophy at the end of the season.
