Beating South Africa is going to be one h**l of a task: Gary Kirsten
The Indian national coach Gary Kirsten has accepted the fact that India’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 is going to be very tough because beating the Afrikaans on their home ground is always a difficult task. The tour will begin later this
month on the 16th.
India is currently ranked No. 1 in Test cricket but even Kirsten knows that his side has had little success in the African continent. He said, “This is a country where India haven't had much success, so winning here would be a
big deal."
Kirsten has been a phenomenal coach for India, the South African has only been the national coach for two years and already he has managed to make his outfit second to none in the five-day version of the game.
India will be playing One T20, three Tests and five ODIs in their tour. Kirsten’s aim would be to rattle the South Africans in the Tests, as India, has recently defeated the mighty Australians and now South Africa are the next
big fish in India’s way to their ultimate domination in Test cricket.
Beating South Africa will prove India’s point that they truly are a number one outfit in the Test format. The head coach said, “Test cricket is all about momentum and playing well for periods of time in a match that can turn a
whole series around, both sides have strong batting line-ups. If they both bat well, it will come down to one or two sessions to decide the series. The key for us is to get some players into good form early on in the series."
If anyone can lead India to a win against the prolific South Africans, it’s none other than http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 himself. Kirsten is a former South African opening, left-handed batsman, who retired from international cricket in 2004. After
his retirement India was the first overseas team to hire him for his services as the national coach of the country in 2008.
Kirsten knows how the South African team works, he is aware of their game plans, dodging Kirsten will not be easy for Graeme Smith’s boys once the series gets underway. On the other hand Kirsten wants his side to play with courage
and strength against the Proteas. He has warned his players to adapt to the situations in South Africa as soon as possible because that is going to be the only way to knock the hosts out of the series.
The Indian side is very determined to give the South Africans a tough time and because of this the BCCI has flown the head coach and some senior players to South Africa ahead of the series, so that they can get acclimated to the
environment in the African continent.
Even though Kirsten will be coaching India against his native side he has shown little tenderness for his former squad. The former South African has warned Smith’s side that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 will be onto them from the word go. He had this
to say to the South Africans, “We'll be up for it from ball one.”
This is going to be a nerve wracking series and the team which manages to take on the pressure will come out victorious.
