Beau Hossler makes an impressive cut after round 2 of the US Open, the 17-year-old stays while Donald and McIlroy depart!
The US Open witnessed a record breaking entry of Andy Zhang, who participated in the tournament at the age of 14. He made an early exit but quoted the US Open experience as “Unforgettable”.
Another teenager has been consistent and has made the cut at the US Open after round 2.
Beau Hossler is pursuing his dream of becoming a US Open champion with precision and passion. The 17-year-old has made his way across round 2 and hopes to continue in the tournament with the same pace.
It was indeed impressive because the US Open has been full of un-easy surprises this year.
The world number one Luke Donald made an early departure from the US Open after the enormous pressure he faced at the hands of the Queen and the entire population of Great Britain.
It was a few weeks earlier than the US Open, when Donald mentioned the Queen watching him and the tremendous pressure he was in while entering the prestigious tournament.
“Hopefully I'm one of her favourites, not sure the Queen will be watching,” said Donald before his US Open entry.
Well, England has been disappointed.
Another embarrassing exit was made by none other than Rory McIlroy. Last year’s US Open champion failed to defend his title and missed the cut sooner than it was expected.
Although McIlroy went through lessons given by the legendary Jack Nicklaus but he failed to apply those words of wisdom in his play, as he is out of the US Open.
The main aspect of McIlroy’s fall is the lack of preparation. “The Golden Bear” brought up the same issue while elaborating on the former world number one’s collapse on the ranking.
Tiger Woods made an impressive return to the US Open with his lead after round 2. The three-time US Open champion is focused and remains among the top players of the tournament.
The 17-year-old Hossler is looking impressive and wishes to improve his current score at the board with a better strategy.
“I was pretty excited about it, but then again I had another 40 holes at least to play, you can't get too wrapped up on where you're at,” said the teenager.
If Hossler remains consistent with his form with a hint of improvement in his stroke play, he will be in a much better position in the US Open and can cause havoc with a surprise when the US Open ends.
