Beau Robinson re-signs with Queensland Reds - Super Rugby News
Queensland Reds flanker, Beau Robinson, has renewed his deal with the Australian Super Rugby derby for another two years. Robinson announced today, June 28, that he is staying with the Reds for at least another two years.
He joined the conference this year for one season and his contract was scheduled to expire with the conclusion of the current 2011 Super Rugby championship. The new undertaking will see the 24-year-old with the franchise until the end of 2013.
Robinson started off his Super Rugby career with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2007 and continued with the same derby for two years. He left for Italy to play overseas rugby after he was sacked by Waratahs in 2008. He signed a two-year deal in Italy but
could not fulfill the agreement due to family issues.
He told the media about his new contract and said that deal had been finalised last month. He stated, "It's good to finally have that security after a few years just floating about in the wilderness not knowing what was going to happen next. I've been in
that situation so many times that I don't worry about what anyone else is doing, it's only a waste of time."
Robinson further said that he has enjoyed his first season with the Reds and he feels very lucky to remain with the derby for next two years. He added that he had to work hard to get a second tenure with the Reds. He shifted his conversation while saying
that, "I'm pretty proud. It's not lost on me what I've achieved this year so far - where I've come from and what I've had to do to get here - so it makes it extra special and means a lot more to me."
The flanker is also determined to make a comeback into the Reds side, after the absence of almost one month, during their upcoming game against the Blues in the first week of July. He was injured playing against the Crusaders on May 29 as he got a severe
blow to his elbow. The Reds will take on the Blues on July 2 in the semi-final of the Super Rugby championship 2011.
