  1. It means that each person who sees something decides for themselves whether or not they find it beautiful. And I'm pretty sure it's eye, not ears.

  2. Interesting point.  I've only heard of "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder," which means the standard of beauty is different to everyone.  However, now come to think of it, if a person is blind, then s/he must rely on other senses, such as hearing.  In that case, it would be "in the ears of the beholder."

  3. the phrase is beauty lies in the eyes of beholder, meaning anyone can be beautiful if someone believes it.

I'm guessing beauty lies in the ears of the beholder means that anyone can sound well (sing) if someone believes it to be true.

  4. the saying goes " beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" not ears. and it means a person can look like something out of a horror movie to your friends but to you person looks like the most gorgeous creature under the stars. in other words your preference is different from mine but sometimes we/us both share the same taste. thats beholding!

  5. he is probably refuring to music....some music touches ppl in a way that it doesnt touch others due to past experiences or other reasons. I can listen to a song and LOVE it but when my friend listens to the same song he may hate it.

  6. that beauty can be described as something different to everyone else, like poetry can be beauty to some, while makeup is considered beauty to others? like i think it means everyone has their own opinion of what beauty is.

  7. Sounds as if it is talking about anyones reference in music, or any other sounds of beauty.

Some would say nothing is sweeter then a birds singing in the mornings, while others would say nothing is more beautiful then the sounds of a gentle summer rains.

The sense of Beauty is a feeling triggered by a outer influence. What creates that feeling depends on the owner of the ears.

  8. It's "eyes" not "ears." Sheesh

  9. The phrase is "beauty lies in the EYES of the beholder." It means that each person perceives beauty differently. Everyone has their own idea of what is beautiful. So therefore every person "beholds" beauty differently through their eyes.
