  1. The Aircraft, Boeing B747-283B, Registration EI-BWF (at that time) was leased by PAL. The Aircraft is now a freighter flying with Sky Express Aircargo as SX-FIN. It was originally an SAS aircraft, delivered to SAS on March 02 1979. It was the only B747 operated by PAL that came from SAS. PAL leases planes from different Airlines or lessors worldwide, hence having different airplanes that come from different Airlines. The only B747 coming from a different airline that is flown by PAL is B747-469(M) N754PR, which was from Kuwait AW. The rest are leased but have the PAL Boeing code, which is F6 in place of the 69.

it was fortunate indeed that the plane Yousef intended to bomb was the SAS version, which had seat 26K two seats forward of the center fuel tank, which Yousef intended to bomb to create an unrecoverable disaster. becasue of  this act of terrorism, a life was lost ( a Japanese national, who was sitting directly above the said seat).
