Becca Mann grabs Women’s 1500m freestyle gold – Junior Pan Pacific Championships
Becca Mann of USA grabbed gold medal of the Women’s 1500m freestyle on day four of the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday, August 26.
Mann demonstrated her stupendous efforts in the thirty-lap freestyle event and proved her mettle for gold medal. Mann’s stupendous pace placed her comfortably ahead of her opponents and she faced no trouble for the title of the event.
With her persistent efforts, Mann enjoyed a lead of almost 20 metres over her strongest rival and posted a time of 16 minutes and 11.98 seconds for gold medal.
The champion was followed by Danielle Valley USA, who stayed nearly 15 seconds apart and hit the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a time of 16 minutes and 26.93 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Laura Crockart of Australia, who remained nearly four body lengths slower and tapped the finishing blockade for bronze medal by reporting a time of 16 minutes and 30.82 seconds.
Following that, the arena witnessed exhausting efforts of Alexandra Aitchison of Canada, who stayed nearly nine seconds apart and secured fourth position of the event by touching the wall with a timing of 16 minutes and 39.70 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Kareena Lee of Australia, who stayed approximately seven seconds behind and transpired on the finishing blockade with an effort of 16 minutes and 46.61 seconds.
Lee was trailed by Breanne Siwicki of Canada, who remained only 0.16 seconds slower from her and surfaced on the finishing end as sixth best finisher by submitting a time of 16 minutes and 46.77 seconds.
Siwicki was followed by Miina Muranaka of Japan, who stayed considerably slower from her and completed her race in seventh place by posting a time of 16 minutes and 54.65 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Sophia Saroukian of Canada, who failed to upset any of her opponents and clocked a time of 17 minutes and 10.88 seconds.
Mann was contented with her gold securing efforts and received medal at the victory ceremony of the event.
