Hoffenheim defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Beck-c5716, is currently targeting a place in the top ten of the standings table at the end of the season.
Hoffenheim have had a relatively mixed season this term and have been consistent again after an 11th place finish in the previous campaign. The side started the season strongly but a series of poor performances in the
last two months have meant that the team is struggling to hang on to their top-ten place on the table.
Andreas Beck stated that the team is not thinking about a place in Europe currently and the team wants to focus on the current performances rather than setting targets for the future. He admitted that the team is in a rebuilding
process at the moment and the main target now would be to finish in the top-half of the table.
“We're not talking about Europe just yet. The team is going through a period of transition at the moment. Our target is a single-figure finish in the league,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international admitted that his side has been unlucky this season due to injuries to some of the main players in the course of the season. He stated that there have been obstacles in the way in the form of injuries and
admitted that the side is still adjusting to some of the changes from the previous campaign.
However, the player is confident ahead of the second-half of the season and is looking forward to the clash against Hannover this coming weekend. The match will be played in front of the home fans and the club looks to secure its
seventh win of the season.
“We had a lot of bad luck with injuries that season and perhaps the pressure was a little too much for a newly-promoted team. Last season we had a change of coach during the winter break, but this time we've been able to prepare
in peace. I don't think we'll have the same problems again,” he concluded.
Hoffenheim ended the previous season in 11th place and they will be looking to improve on their position this time around. However, the side will face some tough competition from Bayer Leverkusen and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 for
a place in Europe.
