A FIFA committee determining ways to make football more interesting has been disbanded, with Michel Platini taking more responsibility for promoting the game.
A FIFA panel headed by Franz Beckenbauer and other famous former stars such as Bobby Charlton and Pele has been discontinued, after two years of talks regarding improving the game as a sport did not bring forward fruitful results.
The attractive football banner has been wound up as it failed to make any impact on football.
As a result of this, UEFA President http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Platini will assume a broader role in order to further improve the stature of the game, as there is a constant need to refresh football so that more people follow the sport. The Task Force
Football 2014 team was organised in May last year.
The purpose of the group was to generate new ideas to promote football after some less convincing and boring games, especially in the group stages of the 2010 World Cup held in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757. Following the most prestigious tournament,
FIFA formed the committee to raise the bar in international competitive matches.
However, the team assembled were not up to the task as Charlton and Beckenbauer were absent along with Brazilian http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pele-c40189 at the opening meeting. FIFA commented that the promotion will now be handed to present Football Committee, led
by Platini.
The group was started in the summer of 2011 has finished their work after talks on prospective changes in the format. Therefore, the various people involved in the project will now provide their expertise to the new committee which
will decide what to implement to raise the bar in football.
"The FIFA Task Force Football 2014, which started in May 2011, has concluded its work following discussions on possible reforms of the game," a FIFA official was quoted as saying in an interview.
"Several members of this task force, including its chairman Franz Beckenbauer, will now integrate with the FIFA Football Committee, a permanent standing committee which will continue to present proposals to improve the game," he finally concluded.
Franz Beckenbauer will also join the existing organisation to help improve the level of the game.
