Andy Hunt, who is the chief at the British Olympic Association has gone on to reveal that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 can still be a part of the Olympics and revealed that he has already contacted the player, in regards to this role.
Beckham was believed to be in line to get a spot in the Great Britain Olympic football team, but Stuart Pearce went on to snub the player at the last minute. The manager opted to go ahead and utilize http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259 as his three
senior players instead.
Despite this fact, it is believed that we can still expect to see Beckham be a part of the Olympics, as Hunt has gone on to reveal that the player could still play a crucial role in making the event successful.
"We would be delighted and honoured to have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 involved more broadly with Team GB in some way," Hunt told reporters.
"I totally respect Stuart's professional judgement and decision as to the 18 players he has selected. But more broadly in respect of David potentially giving some role within Team GB, that would be fantastic.”
"I have had some contact with his representatives over the weekend and we will have to wait and see how that moves forward."
Even though Pearce made the call to not select Beckham to play in the team, he went on to hail the player for his efforts at getting the Olympics to come to London.
At this point in time, it is not clear as to what Hunt is talking about, when he says Beckham can still be a part of the Olympics. Everyone already expected him to be a part of the official committee at the event, but its peculiar that Hunt has gone on
to be so insistent about the whole thing.
No one is quite sure what he has in mind, but with him having already contacted the veteran midfielder, it is up to Beckham to decide whether he wants to follow through with the offer or not.
It is now a wait to see just how Beckham reacts and if he decides to take Hunt up on his offer or not.
