Become a Certified babysitter?

So, I want to become a certified babysitter and I wanna know what I have to do to do that.. I've contacted ppl that need a babysitter but they always say they want someone "certified" and with experience.. so what can i do?

There is a Red Cross babysitting class that provides a certification. Also, depending on how serious you are, childcare providers are mandated in most states to attend ongoing trainings that deal with various childhood issues, including health/safety, developmental benchmarks, and activities to keep the kids engaged. For information about these kinds of trainings, contact your local departmenr of jobs and family services.

I took a class at the local YMCA.  You can also get certified through safe sitters.  Checkout their website: safesitter.org
