Becoming a Federal Agent?

I know you have to be 21 to become a federal agent, i'm only 20 as of right now, i have 2 years military experience (Marine Corps) and am working on a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice. I've kept my nose clean with the law and have not abused drugs. I'm looking into DEA or Homeland Security, will it be fairly easy for me to get a job with these agencies?

  1. It certainly sounds like you are on the right track. Military experience and college are two great assets for law enforcement officer candidates. There are several other qualifications and factors that will determine your suitability for various law enforcement agencies. Finish your four year degree, and try to earn the best GPA that you can. Maintain a good reputation. Check out http://www.peaceofficerjobs.com for important information and advice about becoming a law enforcement officer.

  2. Assuming you have a spotless background, then yes it is definitely a possibility for you to get hired. Your college degree will put you on the same level as the other applicants, but the fact the you were a Marine  will set you apart from them and give you an even better chance of getting hired. SEMPER FI! and good luck.
