Becoming a High Fashion Model?

Hi!

I'm 14 years old right now and I'm 5'6 almost 5'7 and weigh 97 pounds and am a size 0 or 1. I'm pretty photogenic and have a good posture [I've been doing ballet for 4 years]

I wanna be a high fashion model when I'm older, not because I'm dumb and not smart enough and have to skate by on my looks. It's because I really enjoy the model life.

I was wondering, by my statistics, would I have a good chance of becoming a model? Would I grow tall enough in time?

i dont want to rain on your little hope parade, but im just telling the truth.

it depends on how tall your parents are really, if you will be 5'9 or up (minimum for high fashion)

you need to get signed with an agency. for high fashion, you would need to be in new york or paris, milan, etc. and you need to have a heavy portfolio with real work in it to get signed with any of those. at 14 though, its not happening. wait until you finish high school then go to an agency in new york. they give you castings for runway shows and if you book them, voila. a runway model.

but you said you wanted to be a model when you are older.... well that means you dont know what it is like. the media makes modeling life look glamorous and fun!!! its not!! dont be fooled like a stupid girl would. they only show the lives of supermodels. a REAL high fashion model normally lives on barely any food, and she has a hard time. she does nothing but model. and lots of them can barely pay their rent. you never ever see your family and i bet a million dollars you will get homesick. in modeling, you get insulted, all the time. "your too fat" "you have big ankles" "your lips are too small" "i dont like your hair" "not the right look".  living in new york by yourself living off of a high fashion model (they get paid the lowest) salary isnt easy. in fact it isnt hard. its super hard. there are thousands of high fashion models. so the "model life" may seem great. but yeah thats the supermodel life. not the "model" life. Dont be fooled.

Time will only tell if you'll be tall enough.  Personally, I stopped growing at exactly 14 and I'm 5'7.  The ballet is very helpful for modeling though.  It's good that you are photogenic too.  Do you have great (almost perfect) skin?  That's important.  Do you have almost perfect teeth? Also, very important.  Are your features attractive?  You can't just go by your stats.  They do want high fashion models now to be 5'9 and between a size 0-4 and within the lowest part of the healthy weight range.  It's great that you have a goal but work hard in school because even models have to often fall back on something else if it doesn't work out or simply because most models stop modeling in their 20's!  I'd go to some local modeling agencies and hear what they have to say but you have to be strong and able to handle criticism (sensitive people should not be models) and even some downright mean comments like "Her butt is huge!" or "She's just got the worst skin with all those zits"!  etc. etc. etc.   It can be a cold world.  ANTM makes it look so fun and easy, doesn't it???  It's a TV SHOW!  Put together a portfolio togehter with several great head shots (a couple with NO MAKE-UP) and several body shots (one should be in a bikini)!
