  1. Every person's reason & experience is different. I joined out of love for my country. Through my experience of being a Marine I have become a better me in everyway. I love it.  And though at times it wasn't perfect, no complaints, no regrets.

  2. i joined because in my family, we are nothing but army navy and AF brats. I was the pioneer so to speak when i joined. But my reason for joining is because i wanted to see combat. I joined after 9/11 and wanted to fight. it was good times and there were bad times. but i enjoyed it.

  3. Back when I joined, judges still gave wayward boys the option of joining the USMC or going to jail.  I chose becoming a Marine and my life has been forever changed.  Years later I spoke with the judge that changed my life and thanked him for the opportunity to become a man.  The USMC helped me become the person I am today, I love my Corps.

I think more boys should be given this opportunity as it will forever change their lives.

  4. I am not a u.s. marine. However i have a few VERY close friends that have joined the cor. One did it to make his family proud of him. The other two joined to make something of their life. I'm not going to say any names. 2 have been in the cor for nearly 2 years each, the other a little over a year. ALL of them hate it now. 1 in particular tried his best to get me to join with him, i refused. now he tells me that he wouldn't let me join even if i wanted to.

Each individual has described to me that the cor. is just as if you're living in a communist country. They each miss their freedom and can not wait for their 4 years to be over with.

I do not mean to talk down on the cor. or anyone in it. I am simply speaking for those who are close to me that are not capable to do so for themselves right now.

  5. A wild night, and a bottle of whiskey!

  6. EVER SINCE I WAS LITTLE I WANTED TO BE IN THE ARMY. IT WAS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED AND BETTER. IF YOUR OK WITH SHOOTING AND ACTION YOULL BE FINE IF IN THE FRONTLINES, BUT ITS QUITE DIFFERENT IF YOU A BASE/OFFICE SOLDIER
