I want to go to med school. I think I want to become a pediatrician. How would I go about that? What classes would I need from grade 12?

P.S I live in Alberta and really really really do not want to have to go away from my nephew and other family for school, so I was looking at Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - University of Alberta.

  1. It doesn't matter, medical school only care about your scores and grades and classes in college. Take whatever will best prepare you to take science classes in college, such as AP classes. Don't take the AP credit, med schools don't like it and some don't accept it, but taking the classes will ensure you get A's and A+'s in college, which is what you want (4.0 GPA is a plus). In college, take the pre-med requirements (search Answers for them, 8 science classes basically and some english/math). Do research if you can, join some clubs and become the president of at least one, do community service and volunteer at a hospital or clinic. Get a job in a medical institution if you can, and get good letters of recommendation. 2 from science profs, one from a non science prof, one from a doctor, and one from a dean or president of your university. Maybe get another one to be safe, but five worked for me.
