Becoming a cardiologist.?

Question

I'm in year 1 junior college (17yrs old) in Singapore now; taking "A" levels next year. What course should i take in university for a career as a surgeon (cardiologist)? If there are any cardiologists out there could you tell me the route that was taken by you? What awaits me after University? What other courses do i have to take after University to become a qualified cardiologist?
