  1. It takes a long time for most people to become really flexible. You really have to commit to stretching several times a day.

    A great cheerleader needs to have good crowd leading and yelling skills if (s)he is on a school team. (S)he also needs tight motions, an ability to pick up and perform choreography, and high well-performed jumps. Most teams are looking for people who can stunt and tumble well too.

    As far as people laughing at others who want to cheer, there is a very negative stereotype out there that cheerleaders are unathletic, mean, boy-crazy airheads. Just keep in mind that the stereotype really isn't true in most cases.

  3. 1. It really depends. Every person is different. Some people have natural flexibility that they work on to get really good while some people need to work a little bit harder. If you want to become more flexible you should stretch everyday and commit to it.

    2. Working hard. Be nice to the rest of your squad because you are a team and you win (or lose) as a team. Really pay attention to your coaches and what criticism or advice they give you and work on it. If they say you're doing a move wrong or something ask them how you can do it better and practice it. That's the only way you'll get better.

    3. I've never met anyone who has been laughed at for wanting to be a cheerleader. Just ignore them and do what will make you happy anyways. Good luck!

It usually takes about a month of stretching every day for you to get your splits all the way down, have a flexible back, etc.  To be a great cheerleader you have to be good at gymnastics/dance/tumbling.  You also have to be really bubbly and loud.  Be nice to everyone, and make some good friends.  People laugh at cheerleaders because they think that their stupid, untalented, and preppy.  That's NOT true!  Cheerleading is a great talent!  I'm sure not everybody can do a back flip, or look good in a skirt and short top lol=)  Who cares what others think, just cheer and have fun!!

  6. STRECH.  Strech all the muscles of your legs.  Strech your legs by doing jumps like toe touch, herkies, and hurdlers.  To be able to do a split, strech and do hurdlers on the left and right.  If you can do a perfect right and left hurdler, then you'll be able to do a perfect toe touch.

    If you want to be a base or are trying out for a football team, you need to do push-ups.  Be able to do 21 push-ups.  Actually, it doesn't matter what sport or place in a stunt you are trying out for, you need to be strong in any stunt or sport.

    There are so many people that don't like cheerleading, or think cheerleading is stupid, it's their opinion.  Then their are also those who love cheerleading, so yeah.

    But I your true friend believe in u i know that u have what it takes to be the best cheerleader.

    as for being flex able well it will not take long just start starching every day and come up with some cheer leading moves and cheers as well..

  8. how long does it take to become flexible?

    it depends on the person. some have more natural flexibility than others. also it depends upon how you define flexible. if

    say having splits is "flexible," then not too long. if you think      that pulling your foot over your head then hyper extending, then it will tak a bit longer. to become flexible, there is only one way: STRETCH. here is a routine to get you started, but   you must add more as you progress:

    look up, down, and to each side

    roll neck

    lift and press shoulders

    roll shoulders

    lean to the side with legs shoulder width

    put head on knee with legs shoulder width

    reach to the middle with legs shoulder width

    put feet together and touch toes

    butterflys

    sit on floor with feet in front and touch toes while pointing and flexing feet

    bring legs to a V and stretch each side and middle

    splits (right, left, and center)

    but you must add more.

    also make sure to keep legs straight while stretching and only go as far until you feel a pull, then hold it for about 15 seconds.

    What requires to be a good cheerleader:

    the number one thing is enthusiasm. i loud voice and big smile are more impressive then tumbling and jumps, which are necessary though. a cheerleader needs to be confident. flexiblility is required, to jump. tumbling is a plus, but all teams do not require. it keeps the crowd occupied. the main thing, i think, is confidence. that will make your voice loud and make you smile. who wants to watch an unsure, quiet, bored looking cheerleader who cant jump?

    Why do people laugh when you say you want to be a cheerleader?

    because people think it is easy. and it is not i promise. they think it is just an execuse to wear a short skirt and to jump up and down. do not let them get to you. do it. it will be the most fun thing you will ever do.

    so please start practicing because i think everyone should get to be a cheerleader!!!

  9. First question: It take a while, but it depends on how you stretch and how much stretch.

    Second question: Just believe in yourself and you can be a great cheerleader. Just practice as much as you can and be the best you can be. And don't let anyone bring you down.

    Third question: I'm not really sure. Mabey once you start to cheer and you get very good at it they will eventually stop.

    if you want to cheer, you need to be energetic, loud, happy.

    I think people laugh at cheerleadrs because they can't be one themselves. and the dont realize how hard it actually is.
