Becoming a firefighter?

I'm going to be starting my last year of high school soon and i want to per sue a career as a firefighter. I was wondering what courses i should take and what kinds of courses are available in college?

I would highly reccomend entering a fire science program at your local college when you graduate. This is where you will learn the basics of firefighting. Most departments will also send you through their own academy... but you will be much better prepared if you have been educated in Fire Science.  The last poster is correct in the fact that once accepted to test for a dept, you will have to undgo those steps.
