What do I need to major in?

Do I major in Secondary Education and minor in some type of History (like World or US),

or the other way around?

What does my major have to be?

  1. major in general history if its only high school

In Texas you have to major in secondary education to teach in high School and then you have to choose 2 minors or majors whichever it is andf they will be the two subject areas that you choose to teach. Then the counselors can lay down a plan for you . You must do , usually your senior year , both observance of classrooms and teaching in both subject areas and student in both areas .
