Question:

Becoming a horseback riding instructor in the US

I'd eventually like to become a horseback riding instructor at the barn where I currently ride when I'm older, but I want to know what I would need to do in order to achieve this... So, I have a few questions

How would I go about doing this?

How much does an instructor typically earn?

Do you need to be certified to do this? If so where?

Is there a certain age you need to be?

Anything else?

  1. Most instructors just learned on the job.  However there are college courses you can take as well.  The college I attended, The University of Findlay, offered an english and western riding program.  There was a 2 year and a 4 year program available.  There is no certification or minimum age.

  2. You already ride at a barn ask them,,

    You must be happy there!

so The best I can say since they know you and we do not ,, ask your trainer,

I am sure she or he will be able to help you more then we can ,,

And go to other barns ask them the same questions,

All of your questions have to many variables to them ,

Like how much too they earn, = well it depends on how hard you work and how many clients you have ,,what are you teaching ?

    see what I mean ,!!

    Just ask your teacher,,
