  1. i would say a contractors lic.and insurance.start with the local building dept.

  2. As a painter myself there isn't much money to be make painting houses. Too much work to be done especially when you're working inside the house. Allot of clients won't pay you a tone of money when giving them quotes. You'll find there are allot of cheap people out there who expect allot of work done for little money. Your best bet is to get into industrial warehouse painting. Get yourself a contract for a 60,000sq ft warehouse, inside and out and you'll have work for at least a month. Depending on if you've got yourself a company or not.

  3. despite what someone seems to think...painting is a great way to make money!  Low overhead and nothing but money for your time.

Here in Canada you don't need a license to paint...you do however need a business permit from the city

as far as qualifications...you hopefully need to know what you are doing as far as what to use and how to do it...I don't think there are courses for it...best place is small paint shops with knowledgable people, talk to them about each specific job as it comes up

  4. a licesnee for painting

  5. I don't know, but it doesn't make that much money. Suggestion: Start your own buisness.
