Question:

Becoming a pharmacist...

I am about to be a senior and I know I want to be a pharmacist, but have a few questions about the process. I know to obtain a PharmD you need 4 years at a postgraduate school. And to get into this postgraduate program you MUST have taken 2 years of pre-pharmacy studies at an undergraduate school(like getting an AA degree I think?). But alot of sources on the internet say it is HIGHLY recommended to take 4 years of pre-pharmacy studies(like a bachelors degree?) to have a higher chance of acceptance to the postgraduate program.

So assuming all that information is correct, my question is will only taking 2 years of pre-pharmacy studies instead of 4 get you to the same place as the latter, just much much quicker? Or will the extra 2 years help alot more(higher salary as pharmacist, better acceptance rate to postgraduate, etc.)? Because if 6 years of school will get me to the same place(being a retail pharmacist) as 8 years, I'll go with 6.

Anyone in the process of or who already are pharmacists please tell how much schooling you went through.
