  1. In order to teach in Florida, you are only required to have a Bachelors degree (it does not matter if it is in education or not).  Once you have one, you can apply for a temporary teaching certificate.  This will allow you to teach for 3 years.  During those 3 years, you will need to take a professional education test, a general knowledge test, and a subject area (elementary education) test.  You will also have to take 5 master level classes in education unless your degree is in education.

Be forewarned that because of the Amendment 1 budget cuts it may be hard to get a job...many teachers lost their jobs recently because of it.

Good luck in your job search!

  2. 2nd grade? lol... a monkey could teach second grade

  3. You need to go back to University and get your degree in Education.  I live in Canada and it used to be a 4 year degree, but it now takes longer.

I believe in the states it's a 4 year degree.  Check into your closest college/university that offers courses in education.  Book an appointment with one of the counsellors and the nearest school.  They can tell you the course info, how much it will cost, and chances of getting a job where you live.

    Good luck.
