  1. Do it, you'll enjoy it.

the pro's - the satisfaction of knowing that your students have learn't something (when you have had a successful lesson).

When you have the students respect.

the con's - disruptive students who for one reason or another do not want to be in your class. (I usually tell them that they can leave and I dont want them if they dont want learn something.)

the disappointment of not having a successful lesson. (it can happen), I try to be as flexible as possible with my lesson plans, but it doesnt always work as well as I would like. Teaching is a challenge, no doubt about that. I am teaching English to speakers of a foreign language, (in China actually) so the problems I face can be a bit different, but generally speaking it can be a rewarding career choice. Good Luck.

  2. If you're serious about this, you'll need to go personally observe some English teachers as they work and talk with them about their jobs.

Like all things, there are pros & cons to teaching.

If you have the money, I suggest you become a Lawyer or something that pays really well. You may like English & quotes, but teaching is a lot more than that. You'll spend a LOT of time doing things OTHER than English if you become an English teacher. It ain't easy.

Then again, some people really LOVE teaching and maybe you'll be one of those people. Good luck!
