Becoming shaky and feeling dizzy while hungry, is it normal?

Now, this might sound like a stupid question, since being hungry obviously causes your body to function not quite as it should, but here's the thing.

My mom, who is depressed, takes anti-depressant pills and is underweight, becomes shaky and feels dizzy when she's hungry. She also feels nauseous, and can barely stand up. She doesn't even have to be very hungry, just the slightest bit of hunger can have this effect on her.

I don't think it's because of malnutrition, because, while she is underweight, she still eats a lot because she forces herself to eat in hopes of gaining weight, (with no real luck) and she also takes vitamins to make sure she gets everything she needs. Could it be because of the anti-depressants, or the depression itself? Or could it be because she's underweight? Or maybe there's some other cause?
