Question:

Bed Bugs in my building...anything I can do?

I have a bed bug infestation in my building and I am loosing my mind. I have had a couple bites which are suspicious, but the landlord sent an exterminator and he said that he could not find any bugs so there was nothing he could do. Is there anything I can do to either prevent the bugs form spreading to my apartment, or treat the ones that might already be there? I don't want to wait until I have a full-blown infestation to do something. I am worried that exterminators will just inspect and not have a plan of action if they can't find any.

I would appreciate any help. This is really affecting me and I am not sure what to do.

  1. If the exterminator won't do anything then you are on yoru own.  I woudl caution you about trying to apply chemicals on yoru own as that shoudl only be done by a pro.

You may want to get csome kind of chemical free bedbug spray like Kleen-Free or BedBug Terminator that they also make and start using it every day to spray around yoru place but remember it is only a contact spray so it will get rid of what it hits...of course if you have nothing then chemical or no chemical there is nothing happening.  probably your safest route is to try spraying some of he Bedbug stuff around and hope that if there is a bug or two you hit it.

You will also want your neighbouring apartments to get in on thsi as well since if they are keeping the bedbugs out of their apartment then they are that much further from yours!  Band together and keep a blcok of apartments clear.

    Good luck...

  2. I only have an idea that I might try if I was ever confronted with "INFESTATION" of bugs in my home !!!. Make sure you have plastic or rubber gloves on  while doing this !! if possible !?!.  I'd try taking an old cloth & make it  damp with oil !! maybe baby oil!?! wipe areas with the oily cloth & then spray or wipe the same area with bug spray !! soaking said areas with it !!. & take the oil rags or cloths to spread that poison to more areas/corners,cracks (etc.) So atleast traces of it will remain to keep killing bugs for aslong as the poison or spray will stay potent to kill them off !!?!!. But PLAN out how carefully you should be while you handle those things !!. When washing your hands.,. Use alittle  bleach in the soap water to get the poison off !! & dry them well !!. you might want to repeat this process using less of any product !! `round every 8/10 days !! You may need to buy spray for the ones that come out at other times!?!  G/L~!!! rRr

  3. get a steam iron and iron ur pillows the steam kills the bed bugs or bring ur sheets and pillow case and pillows to the dry  cleaners and have them steam it

  4. have an exterminator spray
