  1. Everyone else has pretty much summed it up, but the owners also act as concierges.  They're the people you ask for suggestions on where to eat, shop, go wine tasting, see a show, and they can help you get the tickets, line up a cab or limo, etc...

  2. It's basically an inn (for lodgers) and can be used instead of typical hotel or motel choices.  It's more homey becuase the owners usually live there...you get a bedroom and home made breakfast in the morning when you wake up.

Some of them you have private washrooms, some you have to share....but it's basically like a guest house - you're a paying guest in someone's house.

My fiance and I like them because they're more personal than hotels....and we've had good experiences with some awesome breakfasts like freshly squeezed juices, freshly ground coffee, freshly baked croissants and rutebaggers (is that how you spell it?)....mmm....hungry now.

If you're looking for one here's a good website http://www.inntravels.com/

  3. You get a room, bathroom and breakfast. Sometimes wine or tea served in the late afternoon. Some also serve dinner for an extra fee.

  4. A Bed and Breakfast is just that. BED and BREAKFAST. It is a nice , more intimate and homey setting to stay as opposed to a motel. Some offer other services , but you'd have to look into a particular place to see what those offers would be as well as extra cost per service.
