Question:

Bed frame with caster wheels?

My metal bed frame has caster wheels and they appear to be moulded on. I bought bed risers and within two weeks the two at the foot of the bed collapsed, due to the rolling motion when the bed was used or touched. I thought the wheels could be locked, but am unable to loosen or tighten the "wing" on the side which might do the job. Has anyone ever dealt with this? I really need the extra storage space.

  1. The casters will more than likely come off. Try to hit the top of the wheel and see it will come off. Usually there is a part that is pressed on then the wheel has a pin on it that is driven into the part that is pressed onto the bed. You may have to get a little nasty with it but I'll bet they will drive off from the bottom. Have someone hold the bed up and hit down on what ever part of the wheel or the metal part that goes to the center of the wheel.
