My son is going to be 6 and he still wetts himself at nite. He wears a pull up every nite to bed sometimes it's dry in the morning, but usually it's wett. Does anyone have suggestions to get him out of wearing these and staying dry. He never wetts his pants during the day. The Dr. said some kids do this til their 7.

  1. This might be a weird answer but I don't care.

I wet my bed until I was 6 and then I stopped. Is he having bad dreams or is he cold?  I think you should make sure his feet are covered before he goes to sleep because the feet get coldest easily. Also you should wake up in the middle of the night and check on hI'm and make sure hes all covered. My mom still does that to me and im 13. Try to get him to sleep earlier so that you could wake him up and let him go pee. Or let him pee before he goes to sleep. I hope I helped.

  2. he'll grow out of it

  3. You should bribe your son with a treat.

For example, if he doesn't wet himself

at night, give him something he likes.

If he does, take one of his toys away

and tell him that until he stops wetting

himself, he'll get the toy back.

    Hope this helped!

  4. My cousin had this problem and it was because he was a very active kid and wore himself out and then slept so hard he wouldn't wake up to pee.  I think there are a few things you can do.

    1) Get him a ,"pee-pee" alarm clock that goes off in the middle of the night so he can get up to use the bathroom.

    2) Make sure you limit late night fluids.

    3) make sure he goes pee right before bed.

    4) He is old enough to help you clean up the sheets, not that you should make him feel guilty or ashamed but give him some responsibility and motivation to change.  I think that Pull-ups enable kids to think it is okay to pee-pee in their pants.

These are all things that my Aunt and Uncle did and eventually he stopped his bed wetting.

  5. Some kids but everybody. what you can do is prevent him from having any liquids  after a certain time, like 6 or 7 o clock, and then send him to bed. Usually he won't have to go at night. Or, you can sit and talk with him about it. he obviously knows its a problem because he knows peeing is only for the toilet. If you let him know what you want to do, he may want to change too. I'm sure he feels too big to wearing pull ups at night

  6. Some children wet the bed up until they hit puberty

  7. I wish I could help you.. my son is 10 and he STILL has a wet pullup nearly every morning.

  8. when I was little this was the problem..my mom wuld mak me use the bathroom rite b4 i go 2 bed n sumtimez she'll wake me up in the middle of the night...if u can maybe u shuld try

  9. There is a little alarm that you can buy that detects wetness and wakes the child up.  I think onestepahead.com has them.  My friend used it for her little girl and she said that she got over bedwetting in about 2 weeks with the little alarm.  Some children are very heavy sleepers and would not wake up enough to get out of bed to pee.  The alarm wakes them up when they start to go, training their body to realize what is happening.  Another thought if you do not have the extra $$ for the alarm.  If he did not wear a pull-up and had a potty-pad on his bed or a waterproof mattress cover, would he wake up once he is wet?  Sometimes it just takes a change in routine for the brain to realize what is going on.  BC he wears the pull-up, his brain knows that he will not feel wet and therefore there is no need to wake up. (Just a thought).  Also, if he wet the bed, involve him, without repremand in the clean-up process.  For some children, this really helps.  Although my son is only 2 he  is fully potty trained.  Sometimes we still have accidents at night, but he helps with the laundry and knows that he had an accident.

One other thought is to really limit the amout of fluid he drinks prior to bed.   You may also want to wake him during the night for a while to get him used to getting up and going at night.

Hope some of these suggestions help!  Good luck!
