"He is a very intelligent spinner...But he needs to prove his worth in Test cricket," said Bedi, one of world's greatest left-arm spinners, at the Cricket Association of Bengal's (CAB) Annual Awards ceremony.

Replying to a query regarding spinners trying more variations than required, the turbanator said that most of the international cricket now a days is being played on batting friendly tracks, which prompts the spin bowlers to come up with a number of variations to trap the batsmen. He also urged the curators to prepare pitches that favour both the bowlers and the batsmen.
"This is because the Test matches are generally played on pitches favouring the batsmen,” said the legendary off-spinner, who played 67 Tests and 10 One Day Internationals during an international career spanning 12 years – between 1967 and 1979.
"Pitches are mostly covered these days...so it becomes flatter. The spinners don't get much help,” said the former Indian veteran. “I know that cricket is primarily a batsman's game, but it is the bowlers who win you matches. So you need to prepare wickets which help both the batsman and the bowler," he added further.

“I'm not a great fan of Ojha...that's because of his suspect action. That's how bluntly I can put it,” said Bedi on the sidelines of CAB’s annual awards ceremony.
Meanwhile, Ojha had undergone a precautionary scan after hurting his neck during an indoor practice session, ahead of the third One Day International against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, commencing at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, on July 28. The extent of injury is not clear yet, however the team management was sure it would not be serious.
