Bedroom Decoration Ideas?

Question

I've had the same bedroom for 5 years and I'm getting tired of the same layout, the thing is I'm 19 years old and my mum had decorated it for me when I was 14 and the style she went with is very classic sort of style and to tell you the truth it doesnt really reflect me, I need some ideas for decorations, im not going to change the furniture so the ideas I need are what I can buy to lighten up my room and make it more like me. Also Im very into Betty Boop if it helps.

Since you like the Betty Boop theme, I would paint the walls white and do a fun border on the wall in either a red/black polka dot or a design that you would like.  Garage sales are a good place to find cheap accessories to decorate in that theme.  Hope it helps.

he he ...some suggestions for you:

1: Whether your bedroom with window? if yes, you can change the curtain which you like.Maybe beads in lines as curtain, sorry I don't know how to called it in english, are good choice for girlish room. I personally think  a curtain is very important for the whole colour effect.

2: Consider hanging poster, oil painting, or something else to decorate your room

3: If your room is big enough you can change the place of your bed,desk or something movable. I oftern did such thing in my holiday

Try finding a colour scheme that suits you and repaint your room...blue is a good colour- it is relaxing and helps you be calm when your angry/upset and find some posters to decorate your room or some nice picture frames where you can keep memos such as pictures with your friends or other personal items that mean alot to you

in my opinion betty boop is a no no..

My bedroom has hotpink walls.. black iron bed frame.. and black modern furniture.. (bedside table and drawers) i have a black blanket cover and pink and white pillows as well as a playboy pillow and playboy poster..

I think a bedroom should have minimal decorations and no stuffed toys!! pillows are different to toys..

Colour is vital. Make sure you focus on a colour you love, or many colours!! Choose a unique colour scheme such as pink, green and white, which would help you to be origional and give you many options because they are there very popluar colours. Painting the room is important but make sure to get pictures or painting first and then match the colour scheme with them. Go quite basic with the colour of the walls, but add bright rugs, pictures or bedspreads to liven up the room. Hope this helps you :]
