so can you please help me with color ideas????

  1. the dulux paints website has a colour schemer gismo that you can upload a photo of your room https://www.dulux.co.uk/projects/index.j...

and than click different colours to see what it would look like.  Can be really helpful.  It also has sample rooms if you don't have your own photo.  Crown paints will send you free samples of up to 5 colours

  2. Try this orange for the walls:

With this cream as the ceiling:

    They look VERY nice together!!!!

  3. My room is a light blue color and Yes it is very relaxing.

I choose blue.  More like a sky blue not a baby blue.

Maybe with some light yellow in it.

  4. I agree that creams and browns would be the most relaxing. I read a feng shui page a while ago that recommended that your walls always be "skin" colored. That is, anywhere from a pale buttermilk to a rich chocolate brown. These colors are refined, mature, and make a room very versatile. They're also easy on the eyes. I think the key to an elegant, modern decor is neutrality in the big things (walls, carpet, furniture) and color in the accessories (pillows, vases, photos, posters, etc). If you want a little more color on the walls, a soft zen green, light blue, periwinkle, or pale buttery yellow are other options. Then trim could be a skin shade. If you go for colored walls and an espresso trim, it would give a more sophisticated look, or white trim would be a more casual one. When I lived at home I painted my room a butter-cream color with black trim, which I liked as a simple, sophisticated look open to lots of accessories. The warmth of the buttercream and the class of the black trim reminded me of a French salon. That look would also work with brown trim.

Also remember that a big part of what may be giving your room a "childish" feel is what you have in it - not just the colors of the wall. Keeping your room clutter free and getting rid of any unnecessary toys or trinkets you've kept around will really help to bring your room into adulthood. Think simple, and get rid of anything that you don't love. And when in doubt, if you haven't used it recently, you probably don't need it.

  5. light Blue is a good relaxing colour, use the wall where the head of your bed is as a feature wall so do maybe a darker blue than the walls (not to dark) and texturise it. Dont use too many different colours keep it simple and you should be able to change the furniture to suit

  6. chocolates and creams are very nice, they are calming/relaxing. it is mature and grown up and neutral. you can get lovely matching bed covers and room accessories. good luck x*x

  7. You should use light blue, lime green, orange, and brown. They are very relaxing, sophisticated colors. Hope I helped!

  8. white ceiling, semi bright blue or purple

  9. I am also changing my room :) the colors are brown, cream, and a light yellow. Because we are renting I cant paint but if i could i would probably paint it a light toupee color. My bedding is cream, i actually just got one of those inexpensive thin cotton blankets at wal-mart for under $20 and then I put a large brown throw folded across the foot of the bed. I have some decorative pillows in brown and cream with some yellow. Since i dont have a head board i had to put something in that bare spot, i had an old window i busted the glass out and hung it above the bed and put 2 decorative candle holders on each side. For the night stand

I painted it  brown let that dry and then put Elmer's glue on it waited about 5 min and then painted yellow over that. when it dries it gives it the old crackly look with some brown peeping through. That's as far as i have gotten, but it's looking really nice. hope I gave you some ideas :)

  10. green and orange

  11. a light lime green or a light purple.

  12. Either soft, light blue or a light calm green with cream and chocolate brown accents.  Those colors look fabulous together.  Try for the modern look with clean lines for any furniture or accessories you may get.  Have fun!
