Bedroom decorating... HELP

Question

I am going to be sharing a room with my sister but I am in high school and she is in elementary school. I don't want it to look like a little kid's room. We love pink and these are some bedding sets we like. We were thinking hot pink and lime green but we don't know how to bring it all together to match with the walls, etc. What color should we make the walls? Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks

I didn't like any of the sheets. Color your walls neutral and pick out sheets less pink.

Hey! I personally like the 1st one the best..I like it mostly because it ties together the 2 colors (you could hav 1 person with a pink..on with green) that you guys had picked out so it makes it so that its easier to pick a color for your walls.  I say paint the walls green(the same green as in the bedspread...kind of like a lime greenish)..and then take a pinkish color and do (verticle sp?)stripes on the wall that both of your beds are on..so that it kind of sets of that wall from the others..then you could decorate your room using things like:

Memo boards: you can take one piece of foam and cover it in fabric(ex: pink) then take ribbon(ex:lime green) and do a criss-cross pattern acros it(it would look kewl if it was diagnal)..i think this would look very kewl! and you could each hav one 2! mayb hang them above your beds? you can hang pics, notes, ANYTHING actually!

Pictures Pictures Pictures: lots of pictures! haha take pics of things like the beach(if able..or if you cant you could always hook up with one of your friends to get them to take pics and give them 2 u!!), leaves(looks very very pretty), buildings with things like unique windows and stainglass, jewelry (especially bracelets..they look really cute), etc. and you can take them in black/white or color..either way works but i recomend black/white..with black frame..its looks very cute and gives your room a more "personal" look and feel...

Posters: You could both sit down and figure out what you both like together(singers, bands, celebs,ETC) and get posters to hang up..but i just would advise you NOT to hang to many..especially if you want a "clean and comfortable" feeling..and also i dont know if there's much that an elementry school girl(im guessing about 4th grade or so???) and a highschool girl(10th gradeish??) would both like and agree on but idk..you can always figure something out! :)

Shadow Boxes: these are ALWAYS cute...you can get little shadow box type things at places like Michaels, AC moore, target, and maybe walmart...then you can decorate the inside of them..you could put shells, pics, pretty much anything that makes your room "u"(well..and your sister haha)

What i would do if i were you is look up on google and you can find sooo many other ideas to! also there are a bunch of GREAT answers from questions similar to yours if you just type in something like "im decorating my room and i need ideas" or something like that right here on yahoo answers..also if you go to pbteen.com they have other great ideas if you just "browse" and find some ideas! ohhh I think pink and lime green are really nice color and then I like the first bed sheets and the third ones are nice too. but about the walls get colors that you think you wont get bored of really quick.Also I think you should get some like crystal things that you hang from your door. it looks really cute there like little dangly things you should walk through. i don't really know how to explain but yeah. and then I also think you could get some wall stickers and like sticker your both names up or like there's like flower stickers adn like sun and star stickers. And there not that cheesy as they sound some are really cute like clear and shiny. what else well do you guys have a certain budget or something if no get a bean bag chair and like some throw pillow. or a t.v. How about a cute fuzzy rug. i think that will compliment the walls or if you get like white beds. what else. ummm. oh you should hang up some nice pictures of you both or go get pictures taken at your local mall or something. a nice clock  and oh make sure you both have enough room in your closets. if no them you might wanna get another dreser.

oh and another idea you could paint the walls lime green with a black heading around it or like pink walls with black lines through it. another option is blue black and gray squares. they actually look really good my dad's office has like gray, black, and like blue but you could get gray black and pink but do that to only one wasll okay like the back wall and then the rest of them like another colors.   I REALLY THINK YOU SHOULD LIKE PAINT THE WALLS LIKE HOT PINK AND  THEN LIKE THE REST WHITE. i wrote the letters big so i could get your attention.  look at this

you could possibly paint the wall a hot pink and then get lime green and black bedding and curtains and stuff...this is how my friends room is decorated and its really nice :)

i say this http://www.target.com/Floral-Comforter-P... with lime green wals, or the 3rd of urs, again with green, that shade shown in sheets, since there's not muhc of it, and have pink decore, if u go with ur choice then i'd sat white furnisure, with Target then maybe darker wood colored, white could work as well, but seems a bit off to me. then hang up posters u both like all around the room, framed for a cleaner look, and if possible, have matching bedside tables with lamps, then have ur stuff on them for more personalitiy. and if u use the one from target, flowers on the walls would look nice, and urs, if ur allowed to, you might could paint stripes on the walls.

It`s good that you both agree on bedding, That`s a good start. I suggest using the same bedding on each bed, but jazz it up with different bedskirts (or I have used fabric before just tuck it where the bed skirt goes.) or try buying cute sheets. Something more adult like for the teen etc.

You could just do white on the top part of the wall, and on the bottom a funky wallpaper that matches below and use moulding. The easiest way to add color on the walls with out painting is buy huge mat boards at a craft store(the mats they use to mat art or photos) they are inexpensive and you can get them in any color. They are huge and make a statement. Then find either a cute paper (so many at scrapbook stores) to glue on to the mat. Then hang it by a ribbon. or, buy wooden initials and attatch to the board and hang over each of the beds. The bedding that you like has a cottage look so you can almost put anything with it. The younger sister may want to make her own art to hang on her mat. Ikea has cute stuff, reasonable prices. If you have one near.

how about a pale pink, with wall accents in hot pink and lime green, you could do geo. designs on the walls and/or picture frames in the too colors even those new canvas picure holders in a mix of the two colors would  look great
