Bedroom disaster: It went so out of hand (basement) Decorating my room for the better Help

I'm fourteen so a DIY is a little -- hard to grasp. Well, my floor is totalled because of -- flooding and ruining ;P I'll take care of that with a wash, but my walls.. I need to get rid of the circle pattern, and (permanent marker) since I wrote on my walls. Any ideas since I can't quite decide to open a can of paint on my own. Also, would it be weird to use just a couch as my bed? What could I do to decorate it more? Would it be weird to, in my "Bedroom" set up a dining table? I'm allowed, and I was wondering if it would be odd, since the room is large. And it will also have a living room style to it. Do you think it would make me feel more independent to have a room set up like this?

What do you suggest for my wall problems? I don't want it to be too babyish also.

Thanks, isa.

  1. This sounds like a really fun project.  Might be best to start with the walls.  You're old enough to paint, just ask parents (or someone who is semi-experienced to teach you the right way).  Once you know you can do it, you'll be able to change your decor just about any time.

Then on to the floor.  After getting it cleaned, maybe use area rugs to give it a finished look.  The couch might be OK as a bed, if it's really that comfortable and gives enough support.  I know as a teen-ager though, I could sleep on a rock!

And the dining table would work great for your work/desk space.

Just keep it clean and tidy, and you will feel very adult in it!
