Bee's and Cell Phone Towers?

Question

Do Cell Phone Towers and the communication waves they produce really s***w up bee's navigation systems? If so will this cause a global catastrophy if the bee's become exstinct because of their confusion and inability to hunt for food and bring it back to the hive? Are other animals such as birds or butterflies affected by Cell Phone Towers? If in fact Cell phone towers are causing the global extinction of bee's, a valuable part of our planet, should we limit or outlaw cell phone towers in protected areas around the world or simply band cell phones and the distructive towers like the use and production of nuclear arsonals?

I understand that honey bee populations have been declining through the past decades but i do no think cell phone towers have anything thing to do with it. most experts are saying that disease (viruses) and airborne sprayed insecticides are the main cause of collapse in a majority of natural and commercial hives. Experts also think its stress that is causing honey bees to be in bad shape. They are still determining what is causing a mass loss of bee presence around the world. It is a serious problem because farmers depend on bees for pollination for our crops. If cell towers are to blame, this is my first time hearing it, it could be possible it is. Maybe scientist are looking into it. check a science journal.

I saw this on one of those CNN like segments.

Bees play a very valuable role in our eco system.  If we lose the bees, then we will end up on a water and cornmeal(?) diet.  I was horrified when I saw this.  

I think they need to invent better phones that are not so sensitive to bees and other living things.  

To answer your question, I would rather do without a cell phone than real food.

This is no joke, I actually remember this story line.

There is no evidence that cell phone towers cause problems for bees. None at all.

Technology has its own good things and bad things.  But it should not be the ugly thing.  It is happening now.  Many delicate flora and fauna are feeling discomfiture due to emission of high decible sounds from electronic sources.  It is not only reduction in production of honey but their disappearance is affecting the natural reproductive systems of flowers / fruits/ agricultural products like vegetables etc. Prices of these food products are shooting up due to short supply.  We must save the world - it is now or never - take care of nature so that it will take care of you - otherwise, future generations will curse us for not effecting online course corrections in maintaining, preserving and protecting our natural resources.

What you are talking about is called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and so far research has shown that cellphones have nothing to do with this.  This association came about when a British newspaper quoted an off-the-cuff remark a professor made about what was going on with North American and European bee colonies.

The PBS program Nature did an outstanding episode on this (see link below) titled "Silence of the Bees", that was exceptionally informative.

It turns out CCD has been linked to a virus that came to Europe and North America with bees imported from Australia.  Penn State University helped make this breakthrough just recently and has already begun working on bringing an end to this hive affliction.  

People should hope they succeed... 70% of the food that hits your table is tied to bee pollination in one way, shape, or form.
