I got stung yesterday morning on the eyebrow and it got a little swollen around my left eye, not too bad. I kept ice on it for half an hour. But this morning I woke up and my eye is half swollen shut. It has also spread to my right eye, up my forehead to my hair line and across my nose. I look like a blowfish!! I start a new job today and have to be there in an hour. What can I do. I cant miss my first day of work but I look aweful. It is also very painful and itchy.

  1. Go and see a doctor straight away

  2. Go to the hospital.

you are obviously allergic to bee's!!!!

do not miss ur first day at work!!

    Go to the hospital now!

  3. Go to the doctor immediately or even the emergency room! - you must be really allergic to bees.

You'll have to call in and miss your first day. You may have to give them a doctor's note afterwards.

  4. Im not sure how effective anyone can be at work with one eye, surely your new boss can understand that. If you were highly allergic to it you would of all ready gone into anaphalisis but since that hasn't happened its most likely the combination of being stung in a sensitive area plus a minor allergic reaction. If it is that close to the eye it can present unique complications that you need to see a doctor about. If I was you I would take a benadrill now and tell my boss what is going on and get into an urgent care center or to a doctor.

  5. get some massive sunglasses!

  6. You should call your doctor immediately. Call work - your life is more important. And if your doctor tells you, you could go into work later. Or if you feel safe to drive, go to work and let them see you and they'll agree you need to go to the doctor. Did you take Benadryl? That's a good allergy reliever, but you should see your doctor because you might be highly allergic. I know people that can are deathly allergic and their first sting was really bad and if they get another without having their epi-pen handy, they will die. Doctor! Go!

  7. I have been keeping honey bees for several years now and i feel pretty confident about answering this one. Some form of benidryl or antihistamine will help with the itching and possibly the swelling if taken soon after the sting. You will receive lots of input about things like meat tenderizer, tobacco, baking soda an other topical treatments. they are all just wives tales. I have tried and none seam to work. the venom of a wasp is different than that of a honey bee. a honey bees venom is an irritant used to defend the hive while a wasps venom is used to kill its prey. My best advice is to not rub or scratch and let it run its course. it is normal for it to be sore for a couple of days

I have had stings itch and be sore for as little as a few minuets or as long as a weak

  8. Did you make sure you pulled the bee's tail out? Make sure the stinger is out and try more ice and a cold face cloth over your forehead. Then calamine lotion. But you may have to start the job next week, coz this will take that long to heal.

  9. go go the hospital durrhhh!

but at school when we learnt about alkali's and acids,

bee stings an acid i think so you have to put vingear on it to neutrilise it :).

    i cant spell btw lol!
