I kive in north central Arkansas and yesterday I was stung by a metalic green bee who's body length was about one third inches long. This sting was far more painful than a regular honey bee sting(I have kept honey bees for years and ben stung repeatedly) I have never in my life seen sutch a bee and I am a observant person. Does anyone know what kind of bee this may have ben?

The site seems to have lots of other info as well.

    Good luck!

  3. It was not a bee, but some sort of wasp.  It could have been a dirt-dauber of some sort.  I am not a bug guy, so I can not give you a good answer.

But if it was hairless, it was not a bee.
