Hello, I got a beesting on Saturday, and yesterday i noticed that it got red and kind of swollen not alot though. I am pretty sure the stinger is out but i'm not positive right not the area is a little bump but right next to where the bee stung me in a bigger (not huge) bump that is red & slightly swollen and itchy. I don't know what this is and i'm kind of worried.

Is this normal to have the area next to the stung area be itchy and swollen? My breathing is fine.

  1. Yes its normal. But in a couple of days if you feel your arm and you run your finger over the bump and nothing is their, take a piece of bacon set it on your bee sting for like 10 minutes and if the stiger was deep in or wutever it will rise to the top and u can pull it out, or you can do it right now :) My friends dad was a bee keeper so he knows

  2. I have been keeping honey bees for several years now and i feel pretty confident about answering this one. Some form of benidryl or antihistamine will help with the itching and possibly the swelling if taken soon after the sting. You will receive lots of input about thinngs like meat tendorizer, tobacco, baking soda an other topical treatments. they are all just wives tales. I have tried and none seam to work. the venom of a wasp is different than that of a honey bee. a honey bees venom is an irritant used to defend the hive while a wasps venom is used to kill its prey. My best advice is to not rub or scratch and let it run its course. it is normal for it to be sore for a coupel of days

I have had stings itch and be sore for as little as a few minuts or as long as a weak

  3. yes, its normal. When my husband gets stung it says like a welt for the better part of a week sometime. If you were having a sever reaction you would be dead by now.
