Bee stinger question!?

Question

I think i was stung by a bee. three days ago. And it's still really red, and itchy. My moms a nurse, and she looked at it, and doesn't think the stingers still in there, but doesn't know why its still red and a lil puffy. What could it be?

Maybe something else stung me?

Maybe its infected?

Is there anything special to put on a sting that will make it not swell and less red?

The drugstore offers special gels to put on a sting. And you can cool it with ice or water or a wet cloth.
