  1. Have you been doing this successfully for a while and the no signal problem just cropped up, or is this the first time you have tried?

    Hardware:

    1) The cable is loose in the back of the TV, the laptop or has somehow been damaged. Reseat the cable. Replace the cable.

    2) The HDMI input on the television is toast. Stick the cable into a different HDMI, see what happens.

    3) The HDMI output on the laptop is toast. Uh oh.

    Software:

    1) TV not set to correct input. Cycle through all your HDMI's to make sure you're on the right one. The input labeled 'PC' is not the right one.

    2) The PC is outputting a signal the television does not recognize. Change the resolution to match your TV's native resolution - usually 1920x1080 (1080p) or 1366x768 (720p) at 60Hz (maybe 120Hz, but that's still somewhat rare for a television)

These are my best guesses. To be honest, I am not particularly familiar with how the HDMI output works on the VAIOs. As for the audio thing: it wouldn't surprise me to learn that when the HDMI is attached, the PC assumes you're utilizing your TV speakers/HT system and that you wouldn't want the tinny laptop speakers chirping away at the same time. There is probably a way to enable them, but why would you want to?

  2. Try rebooting computer...

    good luck :)

  3. try replacing the cable, the connector on it could be damaged/ pins damaged and touching together
