Been having menstrual like cramps for over a week. period not due for another 2 weeks. what could it be?

My period is usually every 28 days give or take one here or there. I'm 21 years old and yes im sexually active. this is the first time its happened && i have been getting my period for some time now. I started getting them last monday which was 2 and half weeks before my next period. they come and go switch sides and some are more severe than others. i actually think my real period cramps are worse than these. I took a pregancy test and it said negative. Any ideas on what this nmay be?

Wait until after you miss your period and then test.
