Question:

Been inactive for almost a year from amatur, would i still be able to become somebody big in boxing?and im 19?

i trully love boxing. only boxed amatuer in gyms before.im 19 and would like to amatuer box.i been inactive for almost a year from boxing gym.would i still be on time to become somebody big in boxing?please help.

  1. It doesn't matter, the fact taht you've boxed before is great. Nate Campbell  currently holds 3 lightweight belts and he turned pro at 27, he's currently 36. What's even more significant is the fact that lightweights are notorious for declining at a significantly earlier age than fighters above lightweight. Joel Casamayor is a champ, he's 36. Antonio Tarver, champ at the age of 40. There are countless other people who got late starts at boxing. Even legends like Bernard hopkins, he started boxing in prison. You can still be great. That age thing is less of factor now than it used to be, because boxers used to fight 100s of fights and became wore down at early ages. 19 is young to begin fighting, your body has not even reached its prime yet and you are still a growing teen.
